Sir Walter USPSA Sept 5th

My first experience at Sir Walter was great. It was also my first time shooting my new XDm 9mm 5.25 with a springer precision trigger job. There were 7 great stages. A total of 82 shooters showed up. I ended up placing 4th in production division out of 25 production shooters. Overall I could have done much better. Stage 1 blew my chance of 2nd place, without the penalties on that stage I would have been 84% of first place. Below are the overall standings.

I placed 2nd on stage 5, which I felt was one of my best stages of the day. It was a 30 round stage.

Stage 6 I also placed 2nd but my time suffered when I accidentally pressed the slide lock lever up. My points were fairly good, and I made 2 reloads just to be on the safe side in case I missed one of the steel targets, which I didn't. So the extra reload was unnecessary and probably had an effect on my overall time.

Stage 7 (first video below) I should have never done a standing reload, it's just a waste of time! My strong hand shooting felt very slow. I definitely could have executed this stage much better if I had made a plan.

Stage 3 (second video) did not go as planned. I had to hit one of the plates twice for it to fall over, which made me get out of my rhythm. I saw this happen to several people on the exact same popper I had trouble with. On the final six targets I had planned to stand right behind the divider in the middle because all the targets were visible from that one position, but again that didn't go as planned.

I have 15 days left to prepare for the NC sectional. Lots of dry fire, 3 practice sessions and 2 local matches.
