I acquired this gun from one of my high school football coaches. He said his father used it for hunting, but that's about all he knew.
Smith-Corona is a typewriter company. Back in the 1940's they stopped production of typewriters to make rifles for WWII. Out of all the 1903-A3's I have seen this one is by far the best looking one and has the best looking bore. The stock was refinished which gave it a glossy look and all the parts are the same serial number and all made by Smith-Corona. These guns are very hard to find in this condition especially matching serial numbers.
